According to the letter I got 2004 MY is not covered by the injector warranty. Some on hear have said they think GM will extend it to all LB7s and in my opinion that's the way it should have been to start with. For right now, no its not.

I hope it's not an issue but if GM gets enough claims for bad injectors on the '04 LB7's past 100k miles, I would hope they would take care of the customer. Anyone with an '04 LB7 that's had the injectors replaced after 100k miles? Was it an uphill battle?

I just had mine replaced for free at 136k. Besides the dealer I use being easy to deal with, I had all my ducks in a row when I went into the dealership.

1. You MUST pass the fuel quality test. They will take a sample from the bottom of your tank, so they can try to get some trash to disqualify you. Be sure that your tank is clean. I knew that mine were going out for about 15k before they crapped out. Do whatever you have to, so the tank is clean, Highway Diesel ONLY.

2. Be sure that you have already contacted GM, and let them know about your situation, and received a service number.

3. There is even more info and bulletin numbers I can give you, along with a good, competent, contact at the gm call center. PM me for more info.

Thanks for the info. I just bought an 04 lb7 from a dealer and they said it was covered under the extended warrenty. I asked for something from G.M. in writing and the salesman said he would get it for me. I will call him tomorrow and keep you posted.

PM me if you get anything in writing, especially a copy of the 7/200 extension on the 04 LB7. I like to keep my guns loaded.

04 injector warranty

I just talked to the owner of the GM dealership here in Hope B.C. and was told there is no warranty for the 04 as yet because they have not had a lot of injector problems. He assured me that if anything happened after the initial warranty he would take care of it and felt that GM would honor the warranty. I just bought the truck a week ago, it has 82,0000 Km on it so it is still under the original warranty. I am leaving for holidays tomorrow a.m.(California & Arizona)I will be gone until mid January and will be pursuing this further.
He told me they used a different injector in 04.

Just curious what signs/indications you had to know yours were going out?
