Love my truck but now it's smoking at idle like so many others so I will be taking it in to the dealer to get the injectors checked out/replaced.

Before I show up at the dealer I guess I really need to pull the Edge and Attitude (mounted in overhead console) out. What do you guys think?

Also, in other posts some have stated that the dealers will check your fuel for contamination and possibly deny your warranty claim if you've got junk in your tank. Some have recommended a new fuel filter and fuel tank flush/cleaning. I know I have gotten two bad tanks of fuel over the life of this truck ('03 - 50k miles) not to mention running out three times. Anyone got burned on this?

Thanks for the help. This board rocks!

Dirty Fuel

I have not personally heard of anyone getting burned on that. If your worried about it run a tank with fuel / injector cleaner in it until it's almost mty and then fill up and change the filter.

Never get fuel from a station with a tanker filling up the under ground tanks. If you must get it from that station wait for a few hrs to let the ground tanks settle down. All the settlement is disturbed when the tankers fill the underground tanks.

Good luck with getting the injectors changed out!

Thanks, I have run Stadyne from time to time so I will probably run some more through ang change the filter before taking it in.

Any idea how the dealers will react to seeing the Edge/Attitude installed?

Go to my garage and look at the injector item in there. I put some helpful info in there. Private message me if you have any questions.
