This past winter, I upgraded to the ‘85-newer glow controller on my ‘83, complete with a resistor for increased glow times and new 60G plugs. All has been working great up until a couple of weeks ago. It was a hot day, probably around 95°-100° and I had been driving down the freeway for about 30 minutes and stopped at a store. Came out about 15 minutes or so later and the plugs didn’t cycle. First time it had done that. I figured, well, it was hot out, but the truck still cranked a little longer without the plugs. It did it a couple more times that day and then started working again. Then, just yesterday, it did the same thing, no cycle and it was in the 90s too. Could it be this controller is getting warm or something and not cycling? Defect? It’s was a brand new ‘85-newer AC Delco controller and it’s mounted on the driver fenderwell.
