The truck is starting to shake and puff a little white smoke when first started in the morning. Probably have an injector leaking a little during the night. Once started the engine smooths out but rattles the dash slightly but when driving everything feels fine.
So does anyone know or have an opinion on if I should change the injectors on my 2000 Chevy 3500 dually 6.5. it only has 46000 miles on it but it would give me peace of mind replacing them. Could they go bad from very little use over 21 yrs?
So I have a 99 K2500 Suburban, 230,xxx miles. When I purchased it, it had a grease car system on it. It would idle sporadically, lose fuel going down the highway, and die occasionally.
It would way up the boost to make up for no fuel. It had already had a PMD relocated to the front bumper on a...
Looks like I might have a bad hole. Changed 3 injectors and 1 hole still has bad rates. Pulled the oil cap and it is starting to haze which it has never done that before. With 520,000+ miles I have not bothered to check compression or leak down. I guess just run it till she blows.
Made a Appointment at shop to have my balance rates checked for this year and have them shutoff each injector to figure out which one has fuel knock, I can’t tell which one it is when I use my stethoscope, is there any other tests on a Tech 2 that I should have them due at same time...
Well now I finally got my IP changed and adjusted and it runs nearly perfect [emoji16]. Next step will be injectors and in here lies my question:
I got hold of 8 original Acdelco brand new injectors (military surplus), but as I can see, they are for a n/a 6.5 (they have a blue ring). As I...
Current known Issues
1)Black smoke coming out of Tail pipe
2) Using Edge CTS3 im not getting a reading for one of my injector rates (bottom right on the cluster)
3) Terrible throttle response
4) bad gas Milage
5) randomly getting a low oil pressure warning
Im going to go ahead and guess...
1982 Suburban, NA
two weeks ago took it on a roughly 100 mile round trip excursion to get everything churned and assess any issues before I take it on a slightly longer trip with a small load (old camper weighing in at about 2200)
We pulled the camper out of storage with it and the engine...
So just picked up a 95' 3500 dually. New to the 6.5. Did an oil and fuel filter change and relocated the pmd to the bumper. I tried to bleed the new fuel filter by cracking it and cranking the motor, no fuel ever came out but the truck fired up so I closed the bleeder and just...
Having an issue with my 03 LB7.
Replaced injectors 2500 miles ago. Trucks been running great until I hooked onto the two car enclosed trailer and drove 30 miles north to race. On the return trip I looked back and could no longer see the trailer or any vehicles behind me. I slowed down and got...
Here is the video of me doing balance rates. My fuel rate is 6. From the thread below looks like I should add 2 adjustment to all of these.
Since it should be 8 on the fuel rate and I have 6 I need to add 2 to my...
Ive been working on an 03 LB7 w/140k miles on it. Egr delete and after market oil cooled fleece turbo installed before I got it. Had all the signs of blown head gaskets so tore it apart and replaced them with arp head studs. Had heads resurfaced and replaced all o rings and gaskets associated...
Hoping for some quick help on this. Our 2002 Duramax is throwing P0202. I see on the LLY Duramax this is an easy fix. I cannot find any detail on fixing this on the LB7.
Is there a fix as easy as on the LLY?
If so, where do I find the correct wiring harness for injector 2?
4000 Kms and the check engine light comes on. Diagnostic says the #8 injector needs to be replaced and 2 others are questionable.
Coincidentally met another guy with the same truck whose CE light also just came on. Diagnostics say his #3 injector is bad with 9000 Kms!
I have a 07 LBZ that is throwing a code for low fuel rail pressure. It only does it when ambient temp is over 90’F and I’m towing at highway speeds.
I already replaced the fuel rail relief valve and the fuel filter and now I’m suspecting one or more injectors may be bad. I have noticed a...
What follows is how we replaced the injectors on my 03 LB7.
