Well since I figured out how to get the downpipe out and new one installed i figured i would write it all out with a few pics. Took about 3 hrs taking my time.

If anyone else is thinking of doing this here are the steps I did to complete this job.
1. Remove Passenger inner fender completely.

2. Loosen up bottom exhaust clamp, down-pipe brace bracket bolt and remove injector(22mm) and duck tape it and zip tie it out of the way

3. Remove turbo heat shield 3 10mm bolts.

4. Remove the 2 sensors connected to top of factory down-pipe 22mm and 17mm

5. Loosen turbo exhaust clamp. The pipe is now free but may be stuck and have to tap at the bottom of pipe to break it loose from the turbo clamp.

6. Now the tricky part. I must note I have a GMC so from what I have heard I have more room than the Chevy's firewall . But it will come out right above the frame rail by the DEF hose's and A/C condensation drip tube. Be patient and try wiggling it out while turning. Took me a half hour but once it hit the correct angle it slides out pretty easy.

7. Putting the Diamond Eye pipe in is pretty simple and matches up to the turbo perfectly. Put the turbo exhaust clamp on but do not tighten it fully leaving it loose allows for adjusting it when your are trying to get the bottom exhaust clamp on.
8. I had trouble getting my exhaust to line up with the down-pipe so i had to remove the transmission exhaust bracket then I used a floor jack to help raise the exhaust up to the downpipe. Once the bottom clamp is fully tightened then tighten the top turbo exhaust clamp and that pretty much is it. Inspect for leaks as well.

Thanks Guys!!
It had a little bit of a deeper tone. But after a while i dont really notice. At WOT i still get kind of a screeching sound as i did before. I thought the DP would have caused that to go away.

Did mine yesterday, wow there is hardly and room between the firewall and engine. The heat shield center bolt had to have tube loose from everything in order to turn pipe assy to get to it. once it was free from the pip had to use a chain fall to force the shield out. the exhaust pipe just opened the rubber clamp for good movement. Once the shield was out the pipe pretty much rolled right out. For an old guy it was a day of it but way less then the dealers or other diesel shop prices, money saved went into my tool box

Do you remember if you took the heat shield out from the bottom or top of the engine. I’m going on 4 hours of working this damn thing and cannot find any good anchor points to attach a strap to so I can ratchet the heat shied from the top of the engine bay.
