Ok, where is the fuse for our 12v outlet in the dash? I am out on the road and the cig one keeps blowing from the inverter, I am running out of fuses and the darn thing isnt jumping out saying "here I am!"

Anyone know offhand where that thing is?????

Thanks!

Sorry, Cig Lighter or Power point or something like that. Shouldn't be hard to find...

Look in the owners manual it should be clearer there.

Found it, it is labled AUX PWR underhood, a 20A fuse. It isn't blown, looks like the problem is the center part of my adapter can't reach because GM put that dumbass plastic piece inside the port making the distance too far. Neither of the two adapters I have can reach it and stay seated without pressing them hard and holding them into the port.

Hi Tx,

What size inverter is it? Is it possible that some kind of fault has developed in the inverter since you last used it in the Accord? On the 12v plug, you might check Radio Shack. They have 12v plugs with a longer extending center tip that is spring loaded.

I use it every day in the Accord for at least 12 hours a day. It is a 300w High Efficiency fan cooled inverter from Radio Shack. I think there may be a surge in our trucks or something, maybe upon startup that the Accord doesn't have, I am at a loss as to why this is happening.

Took the laptop and inverter and carried it back to the Accord, works fine no fuses going and its a smaller rated fuse. Maybe a tech can chime in and give a clue why the Dmax was blowing all the fuses for the cig outlet, is the a surge in our trucks upon startup?

Also talking to Quadzilla a few weeks ago they said the cig fuse is often blown, my Quad wasn't working and they said the tuner gets its power from the same circuit. I checked, they were right, what gives?

Anyone?

The only thing I can think of off hand is: do you smoke or use the cig. lighter element for liting up?? I can remember having many vehicles come in with blown cig fuses. Tracable to the element/socket getting ashes caught up in there, creating a short. Check the socket anyways, make sure there is nothing interfering with the contacts..

Nope, don't smoke or anything. The cig lighter port never has been used before that I know of, it's always covered by the actual lighter part. I think wifey uses the 12v power port to charge her phone every now and then.

I will check to see if there is something off in there, but it makes me feel both better and curious to know that other people seem to experience blown fuses at the cig outlet.

I have the same problem,...mine blow all the time with the 12V air compressor! Never had that problem with any other car or truck I have owned until this one.

If some one has a clue about why this one is different I would be interested in hearing. My only guess is that maybe the dual battery is hooked up to the cig lighter and it is not regualted? Maybe we are seeing a surge?
