Got a rippin deal on a 94 K2500. Replaced the broken ignition switch and reworked battery connections and with some coaxing and block heater it started after sitting for 4 years? Has a rough idle or kinda lope. No bubbles in coolant res. Wanted to surge a little when I put it in drive and reverse. Point me the right direction please.

1994 Silverado 6.5 Suburban with Gear Vendor overdrive. Looks stock engine wise.

My bad. May have been sitting for 8 years. PMD is still on injector pump. 233k miles. Blowby puffin from dipstick.

Dont recommend just tossing a whole lotta fresh diesel in the tank to dilute the nasty thats already there?

Going to install the walbro and filters that were slated for the 95 tomorrow.

I say dunk a bottle conditioner in the tank start the mill and run it empty.
i have used 10 year old diesel with nooo problems.
But then,..i'am in a cooler part of the continent

I'd also consider starting with a new set of injectors since it's pretty likely the ones in it are OEM and way past their expected lifetime. That may also be the cause of the erratic idle... individual cylinder injection pressures all over the place. ~FH

Installed FS1212 which filters to 20 microns then new walbro pump. Spent a day looking for air leaks before I put the walbro on a bench and found it wont pump.
Reinstalled stock lift pump and replaced stock fuel manager with hardline. Relocated PMD and installed #9 resistor. Extended ops with braided steel hose. Replaced tranny filter.
Ran like crap. Shifts ok in D but not OD. Resolved to switch engine and transmission with my 95. Found this in the teardown
