Anybody have this issue? Just had some DPF issues repaired at the dealer (third time). Idle starts off low then within a min it is high. They claim soot numbers are normal and they just did a manual regen. No codes. Been great for 23k miles. Now issues.

Elevated idle is coming on with a hot engine or cold engine? If cold then I say thats normal if elevated idle is on. High idle is the option of using the cruise control to raise to certain RPMs.

mine starts slow then ramps up for about 1 minute then drops back to normal even when hot.

elev idle is off in the dic & yes it will shut off when i put it in gear or i wait 1 min. & it shuts off by it's self. it has done this from day 1

Does it only do it when the engine is cold (and by cold I mean like the first start of the day, regardless of how warm it is outside)? What you are seeing is normal. I think if you check with people around here most will say their truck does the same thing.

If off in the DIC I try a couple things. One enable it in the DIC and then shutoff and restart and turn it back off. If it still continues then find the instructions to turn it on or off using the pedals. Then if it still continues take it in and have them tell you why in detail as to what is going on.

mine will do it a few times pr day but only for 1 minute not till the temp gauges is at full temp if i drive it 20 miles or more & shut it off it wont do it till the next day
it says it's off in the dic & its about 75-80 out side

My idle is back to normal. Replaced the pressure sensor for the exhaust. Regens now aprox 500 miles apart i think. Have not seen a high at all for two tank fills. Im sure I have been through a regen just have not seen it happen. That's how it was for the first 23k miles. Happy once again.

What should an lml idle at ??? Mine is about 900 and I think that's to high dealer says its normal. And I've deleted the dpf and changed up pipe running an h&s tuner. Any help ?
600-650 RPM. You are runing an aftermarket tune, check with H&S for an update for your issue. Are you running the latest tune or what version?

Have you asked H&S what there intended idle is?

With electonic control:
- it's idling where intended
- or it thinks it's idling as intended (speed sensor issue )
- or it thinks it has another reason why it should idle higher (eg - if H&S has programmed higher idle for a cold engine and coolant temp sensing circuit has a fault so it's idling higher because it thinks it's cold)

Perhaps the H&S guys can help here.

Not sure if it is like the LMM or not but as far as one can find out it is not in the ECM for the elevated Idle rpm. I was thinking the same applied to the LBZ which probably anything on Bosch ECM is setup this way.

Idle when it's fully warm is 640. It is higher when it's colder.

I don't know if H&S changes the idle speed, but I don't think that's the problem.

If it's only idling at 900 for a short time after a start when the vehicle has been shut off for a while, that is normal. If it's idling at 900 all the time, then there is probably something wrong, but I don't think that's the case.

My idle problems are all solved. Was related to the DPF repairs that were made. The only time that it is elevated now is when in the regen mode. I never noticed a significant idle change prior to the DPF issues.
