Okay, this is a crazy story. I ordered a new bike for my son 2 mos ago for his birthday and it never arrived in time. I found another source for it and ordered it and the bike and my new ERPOM from Heath Diesel arrived yesterday. Bill @ Heath told me he was expediting it so I knew it would be at the house when I arrived home yesterday.
I looked all over the house for the package from Heath but couldn't find it. Meanwhile my sons were putting the youngest son's bike together. It suddenly dawned on me to ask my boys if they had seen it. They told me "no". Finally one of them sheepishly walked over to the trash can, opened it up and said "is this what you are looking for?". There it was, an empty small box from Heath with nothing inside. Fortunately after digging through the trash I found the chip, a return label for shipping, a core charge reimbursement slip but no installation instructions.
My boys with all of the excitement from the new bike, thought the small box from Heath was associated with the bike shipment. And they tore into the Heath box and didn't notice much inside apparently.
Anyway, I have no installation instructions and after reading this: http://www.wickedmag.com/crankin-up-the-power-on-your-6-5-turbo-diesel/ and specifically this comment "Now we take out the glove box, install the Max E Tork computer prom and follow the simple 7 minute process and we are ready to roll. The instructions state it takes a couple of days of normal driving before it’s done" , my guess is there is more to installing the new EPROM than simply popping out the old and popping in the new.
Does anyone recall any specific installation procedures after installing the new Heath EPROM? Does anyone actually still have them?
Thanks for hanging in there with me for this long story! (yes my boys are still alive!
