heres a list of all the parts you need to do a 6.5 turbo swap onto a 6.2.

1)turbo
2)turbo manifold
3)crossover
4)downpipe
5)oil feed line
6)oil drain plate and drain tube(fab one for a mechanical lift pump or buy a electric lift pump and keep the 6.5 drain plate)
7)airfilter
8)CDR hookup
9)upper and lower 6.5 intake preferably "F" code(or fab up a presure chamber to fit on your existing 6.2 intake manifold)
7) pyrometer
8) boost gauge
9)waste gate actuator
10)1/4 turn ip screw
11)patience!
12)custom touch
13)exhaust system

Jodean recomends visiting these threads too: These are good threads to read before doing the turbo addition

and i guess the cdr swap is optional

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/sho...t=turbo+intake (this one dont work yet)

this one aint a bad one to read either

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304401&highlight=turbo

and i recomend limiting boost to around 8 or 9 psi max and absolute max EGT's are 1100*F.
ill ad to the list if people find something i missed

Heath boost master mechanical wastegate is a pricey but EXCELLENT wastegate to use.

#3 ·
i figure its called a turbo master but either way its a great way to make these turbos make around 10 psi boost that a 6.2 can take.

#4 ·
deffinatly and with some 6.5 head gaskets you can push the j codes to almost 15lbs.

#5 ·
actually its the coated pistons that a turbo 6.5 has that allows the high boost levels.

#6 ·
that is true, but the weak point on the turbo 6.2s is the head gaskets blowing after 10 psi and the 6.5 gaskets will hold way more than that. the j code heads are simialr to the 6.5s and the head gaskets are interchangable, so for a small price but large amount of man hours its a extra boost for the underpowered 6.2

ahh ok

how many days off should a guy have to put a turbo on a 6.2 and what kind of power increase can a guy expect? I just put 44'' boggers on my '87 and there are too many miles between third and forth is this a solution or just a dream?

#10 ·
it took me about 3 days to get the entire thing done. it seemed to help the giddyup and go quite a bit. didnt help much untill i got a pyro and boost gauge then really cranked up the fuel and boost.

#11 ·
awesome i dont need alot of power just enouph to get those balloons turnin alot of guys are talkin about turning the pump an 1/8 turn will this help in the meantime?

#12 ·
that will help a little bit. i did that before i got a turbo and it just seemed to make more smoke.

#13 ·
ya i dont make any smoke right now the motor is new but has never been tuned

#14 ·
give it 1/8 and go from there. that should probably help out some.

#15 ·
Well ill try your advise im just one province over in the alberta gumbo lol Thank you

#18 ·

#20 ·
you dont know the half of it it was my better halfs baby. 1986 burb she used to haul our kids in i had to replace it with a 2009 dodge journey that we would rather have the PAID FOR burb. lol

#21 ·
6.2's are easy to find, why didnt you buy another engine?

#22 ·
There was alot of rust and it was a 2wd and we had no idea the journey would be such a pita to make matters worse i gave up my 06 charger as a trade in we should have just sold a kid and made room in the charger lol
