I'm not not sure they have a coating I cleaned a spot then took some fine compound and a clean rag and was able to get dark residue on the rag like I was polishing aluminum..
I wouldn't expect that from clearcoat, is the "durabright" a clear substance or coating?
I'm pretty sure I'm boned - the wheel surfaces have pitting and there's only one way to get that fix...sand and polish.
I'd still love to find something that would eat that brake dust off more easily.. maybe an iron remover or oven cleaner? at this point I don't think I'd hurt things anymore...

I've always gotten the road grimes and dust off my Alcoas with a little diesel and one of those Mr clean magic erasers then used a bit of dawn dish detergent and water to rinse it off
