I love my 2007

I love my obs 2007 3500hd CC. Love the power, ride, layout, mpgs...but most of all, I love the back seats. I love when they're up, they hold three comfortably, or are good with one up two down and verse visa.
But mostly, I love them flat. Throwin in tools, gear, dogs and crap I don't want in bed. It's simply valuable to me. And yet no one has made a truck interior like this in almost ten years.
That's fine, I get it, they're not building them for me...my question is, can anyone confirm my suspicion that this was discontinued as some sort of chicken salad safety move? And I'll never see it again...
Id love a 2016, but as things stand, I'll nurse this one for the next 15 years if I have to to make life easy. Hell it's a use only vehicle to us. Has only 39k on the clock and is not allowed out of the barn unless in practical use, so I think I can get it to last until I give up this farm crap and go to Fla in 2026.
Just guessing someone here would know.
Thanks in advance.

The new crew cabs back seats don't fold down flat? Wow, that's lame. Almost a deal killer, I fold mine flat all the time.

That's one of many reasons why I love my 04.5. The reason it was changed has nothing to do with safety. The current system were the bottom off the back seat just raises up has less parts and is a damn site less expensive to build and doesn't make the price of the vehicle to the customer goes down. Cha-Ching--Money in the bank for GM. Another thing, I think you O7 was built before all the newly mandated EPA stuff.
