Lets see those running boards

Trying to avoid the common driver's seat tear. I've got some stubby legs so I have to fall out of the truck and I notice my jeans pulling on the side of the seat. AMPs are not an option at this point, although that's what I really want.

Let's see what you guys are running! Specifically the 99-07 trucks, but post up any others too. TIA.

Pretty easy actually. Most of the holes are already in the body, I think I only had to drill a couple holes in the very bottom of the flange where the rocker panel and the floor pan are joined. The location for the holes is stamped out, just not punched, I drilled them and sealed them against corrosion. As far as the running boards what I did was use the left on the right and right on the left, if you look closely you can see the difference in the actual step pads, but only myself, you, and the other 3 people that will read this will know. I did that because more of the brackets lined up so I only had to drill for the center mounts.

Will the stock nerd bars off a 1500 crewcab fit a 2500? 2006 for both trucks. Are the cab mounts the same?

The mounting points were the same for me (bought nerf bars from a guy with 1500, put on my 3500 w 2" factory body lift). Mine used the cab mounting bolts, didn't want ones that screwed to the rockers.

AMP'S wasn't the $$$ option when I bought my truck new, so I went with a aftermarket chrome oval offered at my dealer, $650.
Sold them for $150, took a big loss because I was penny pinching.

After about 5 years listening to my wife complaining and having to put a stool out so she could get in and out, I then went with the AMP steps.
Best move I've made, and AMP will always be on any other truck I buy.
They way I look at this now is, put the money out now or put it out later, if that's what you really want.

With AMP steps it's about 14.5" to the step, step to enter the cab about 14.5", I have a 4" front only lift now, now it's about 1" higher.
With the step bar I had, it was about 18-19" to the step with about 8"-9" getting inside the cab, with a leveling kit.

These are Dominator 2s that I had powder coated. I agree with getting the AMPs though. This truck had a 12 inch lift with 38s and with me being only 5' 7" it was still a climb
