2020 Sirius xm navtraffic and weather question

is sirius traffic and weather not available in the 2020s anymore? when asking dealer i was informed to download the weather app from the app store. works now but am anticipating when the free data from gm runs out it wont work anymore without a data plan on truck. Also can the truck be hotspoted from a phone and make that stuff work?

dont agree that this forum is really were this thread should be. I know its not a engine or tuner thread but its 2020 specific and id bet most people with a 2020 wont go to this area. most will go right to the first forum that has 2020 in its tittle

If your inclined to pay for data to make that app work, AT&T has a $20/mo unlimited plan that you can get outside onstar. When I got it for both my Traverse and my new Denali, it was intro priced at $10/ mo. You might try to see if you can get a break on it.

My primary reason for getting it is I'm often in a poor Verizon service area, but AT&T works great. I can use wi-fi calling on my iphone and access the AT&T signal to make calls over that. Also thinking of getting a pandora account that is far cheaper than Sirius/XM.
