Power mirror switch??

Hey all, I hope you can help. I HATE chasing electrical problems. Drivers side mirror stopped working side to side. Still works fine up and down.

I pulled the motor out, can feel it kind of click when I push side to side. I figured that since I could feel it click, it was getting power and probably just seized up, so I replaced the motor. No change. New motor makes a single click when going left and right. Works fine up and down. I have two questions for you guys.

1. How does the wiring to the window motor work? There are 4 wires going to it. I can't find a wiring schematic, but I assume that one pair of wires is for the vertical adjustment and that it just reverses polarity to go up and down. The other pair would be for the horizontal adjustment right?

2. Is the next step to replace the switch? The right hand mirror still works fine in all directions, so I initially assumed that the switch was good, but these multifunction door switches are very complicated and don't always work as you would expect. That switch is $150 so I would like any feedback you can give before just replacing it.
