Service 4 wheel drive message

My apologies if this is not in the right forum. I've found limited information out there on this particular message that pops up occasionally on my DIC. I found no useful information in the owners manual either.

I did find a couple of web pages that dealt with this issue and I did inspect, remove, clean and reconnect a ground point below the drivers door area on the truck frame. I thought that had solved the issue as it didn't reappear for some months. I suspect it has to do with a feedback signal (voltage) that is falling outside of parameters thus driving the message.

Anyone out there have some ideas or dealt with this same issue. Thx.
