2005 radio wont turn on, wont turn off

afternoon all, here's a head scratcher...

2005 sierra 2500hd,

when i open the drivers side door, the dome light comes on, no warning chime.

get in and shut the door, dome light goes off as expected, and there is no power to the radio.

driving a short distance, the radio randomly comes on.

parking and turning the truck off, i open the door. no warning chime and the radio will not power off.

when leaving the drivers door open, ignition of and key out. i can pull the radio 15A fuse, wait a few seconds, and reinstall it. i will hear the warning chime chime about 5 times and then it stops.

i first suspected the door latch witch being bad, but if the dome light functions properly with the door being opened and closed, i would assume that can be ruled out.

question: where is the power feed to the radio supplied from? does it come directly from the RAP circuit? if so, where do i start looking?

is it fed from the BCM?

thoughts?

as a side note, i have also had issues with the fuse center under the hood with corrosion building up on the copper traces under the fuses. not sure if it could be related to that, but by looking trough the schematics i wouldn't think so.

any and all idea welcome.
