Help with 08 ITDB "service trailer brake system"

Lately Ive been getting the service trailer brake system code and have not had a trailer hooked up in some time, so its not my trailer.

Ive searched and found what I thought was a recall from GM on this. Even though it appears my truck was covered, they said it wasn't.

So I ordered the part on the document I found. I do not see where it goes. Google search says its above my axle, in the frame rail, drivers side. There is a module there, but that's not what I was sent. One I got it much bigger(20850923). Also looks like water could easily get in on the back side of this. More like it should be in the engine bay or in the cab.

Can I get some help on where this module is?

But, I would've checked the fuses first, and then suspected the relay
But, hey, you've already got the module.

Well, for starters, search "ITBC", not ITDB.

Is message always there, or every other drive or so?

Ive searched on the relay since you posted that. That is the device I see on the framerail. I guess both are next to eachother, didn't see the other one. Will have to look again.

Started about a month ago and not often, seems more often now... almost every time I use the truck. Sometimes soon as I start the truck and not touched anything. Others I can bedriving down the road before it dings on

I have a GM dealer by work here, will try and get the relay and put on tonight.

Will be hooking trailer to it tonight to use for the rest of the week. Luckily its not what would be considered a heavy load for this truck. So I will just have to give myself extra space tell I see how its acting.

Replaced the relay as you suggested, 2 days no warning lights.

Thanks!
