Sulastic shackles on a 2500 Suburban/Yukon XL?

Wondering if anybody here has gotten Sulastic shackles installed on a 2500 Suburban or Yukon XL.

I bought a set for my 2003 Suburban 2500 back when I had that - and never got them installed because it appeared that they were not going to fit. The rubber pivot section of the Sulastic hits against the spring mount bracket on the frame.

So they went on the shelf.

But now I have a 2010 Yukon XL 2500 - and I'm thinking of installing them on that truck. The frames on both trucks are pretty much exactly the same - I did a test fit, and it looks like I'm going to have the same issue.

Looking at it - it appears the only way I can get the Sulastics to install is to cut away some of the frame bracket so the Sulastic gets some clearance. I don't really like that idea though - because it's going to weaken the bracket.

I'm thinking I would weld up a reinforcement onto the bracket to compensate for the metal I cut away and that should keep the bracket just as strong as before.

I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

I've got the SA-01-TI Sulastics - which is what is recommended on their site for this applicatition. But they also list a SA-04HD part number for some similar GM applications.

Wondering if maybe the SA-04HD's fit differently.

I've contacted them as well. But when I had the same fitment issue with my 2003 - they weren't very helpful.

I've searched high and low on the interwebs - and haven't found any forum posts, Pinterest pics, Youtube videos....etc. , that would indicate anybody has ever gotten these installed on a 2500 series Suburban/Yukon XL.

That's why I'm asking here.

The rear frame bracket on the 2500 series SUVs and the 2500/3500 series pickups is different (the pickup bracket has more clearance in the rear for the Sulastic the extend backwards).
