PPE Center Link Hitting Differential Cover

I realize that I'll get slightly less steering radius but my shop is telling me they cannot install the straight center link due to it binding on the differential cover. Is this common? Is there a fix? Should I just bag the straight link and make the original one work?

Thoughts appreciated!!

Anyone? I really don't want to abandon this upgrade. Perhaps this is another case of my mechanic's lack of understanding?
