Torsion Bar Tool

Has anyone been able to pick up a gm torsion bar removal tool for less than $100 plus shipping?

I used a Craftsman, 2 ton Puller, for my Torsions.

70.00 plus 12.00 s/h is still cheaper than what I paid from Maxxcam2 when I bought my keys. WELL WORTH THE CASH...BUY IT AND DON'T LOOK BACK. Thats barely a drop in the bucket compared to my beer fund

Makes the job go so much quicker and has way less "pucker factor" than the 2 jaw puller..IMHO

Exactly right, the only safe way to unload your keys. I picked up mine on ebay, but NAPA sells em here in Calgary for 95 cdn.

Yeah, go with the tool. It's not worth losing an eye/limb over. I too have used pullers (a very good Snap On one with jaws that tie together) and I still would not recommend it. That is waaaaay too much strain to mess with. A buddie of mine who works at the dealer was using the tool on a 3500 and it broke/intern shattering his wrist. Beeeee careful, even when using the tool, although it is much safer than using a 2 jaw puller. I've only done a few, but ever since, I wrap a towel around the puller in case anything was to let loose.

I went into several local stores in Austin. They all looked at me with a dumb look on there face. After spending 10 minutes explaining what it was and how it worked they said they don't carry them. I think I lost them at Torsion Bar.
