Dealer reset fuel filter monitor

Took my truck in for an oil changed and the dealer reset BOTH the oil monitor and the fuel filter monitor. Can I require him to change the fuel filter?

Sure, but you're going to pay for a new fuel filter and service charges for doing it. I know it's frustrating to have work done by 'professionals' that isn't up to standards, but nothing is hurt by resetting the fuel filter monitor, especially now that you are aware of what happened. Of course, you could voice your displeasure, but, personally, I don't think it's worth it.

I would see if they would split the cost with you since you now don't know the life left and want to change it to get a new base line.

Then I wouldn't worry about it being reset. Mileage is only one of the factors that is taken into for it's life. It will find it's way back to the correct life and all will be well.

Don’t you have any records when your fuel filter was changed at? Your mileage should of been recorded when this was done. Just go by mileage for your next change.
OnStar have all your records?
I keep all all my service records along logging in my Owners Manual
