Zerk (Grease Fittings) LML

GM changed things in 2011. Zerk fittings went from 11 down to 9, with the odd number 9th remaining a bitch to see, let alone get to.

Numbers 1, 2 and 3, on the left (driver) side:

Number 4, also on left side:

Numbers 5, 6 and 7 on right (passenger) side:

Number 8 also on right side:

And the biotch, number 9 right side towards front center:

You just have to reach up there, it's on the idler support. They make little hose extensions for zerks that you can install to make it easier going forward. You can also use it as an excuse to get a lift, easier to get your hand in there on a lifted truck.

One end of the idler arm bolts to the centerlink, and should have a grease nipple there.

The other end of the idler arm bolts to a rotating shaft, so it can pivot left and right as you steer. That pivoting shaft assembly also should grease nipple on it, typically towards the top of it. If you don't want to reach up there to get it, you can get a an extension for it (extension screws into the housing, with a flexible hose on it, the other end has a grease nipple).
