I guess this will get bumped up on the "to do" list.

First oil change mine took quite a bit of grease in most fittings. Like 5-6 pumps, more on some, until starting to firm up. Now it just takes a pump or two. I do them every oil change at around 9K miles.

I just saw this post today. I mentioned this exact thing in the L5P section last week. I just got my L5P truck last week and was doing a review of the truck this past weekend and found exactly what those pictures show. Not a lick of lube. I too pumped 5-6 pumps of grease in each one as well. I would have thought this is one of the first things the dealer would do but I guess not.

Can you tell me how many I am looking for on my '18?

Thanks!

I'm going to be checking mine this weekend. I specifically asked the dealer about the grease when I bought it and was told that it would have been caught and fixed during the PDI if they were low from the factory. We'll see...

What grease have others been using? Anything in particular or just any old chassis lube? I have some JD grease (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CAXDJOE) up in the garage that I've used for other things, and it claims to work on trucks, but I was wondering what others have been using on their trucks.

Edit: Just saw this on Amazon. I think I'll probably grab a couple tubes unless folks have a better suggestion. It looks to be the standard chassis lube for GM vehicles. https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Fluid.../dp/B000QIVOMY

I didn't get a chance to go over things yet but did glance at the upper ball joint zerks this afternoon. They do have some grease residue on them, so I'll take that as a good sign that at least a little grease was put in by someone along the way.

I may have spoken too soon. I wasn't real impressed when I climbed under the truck this evening.

The boots all look/feel pretty empty to me. Truck has about 150 miles on it. Here is the upper/lower ball joint and tie rod boots on the driver side. Passenger side looks the same. They are not firm to the touch at all either.

What do you guys think?
