2013 steering shaft

my truck always seems loose,i wonder if it needs a steering shaft and bearing like my 2008 truck did?,,yes its been aligned and hubs and steering componets are good[checked by 2 different shops]


anybody ever replace one on a newer[2011-2015] truck?

Are you getting a clunk or shake in your wheel? or just looseness... If its just loose I would look at the idler arm assembly first, it also fails a lot becasue it often gets missed in the greasing schedule becasue the zerk is in a ridiculous spot. The moog unit has a zerk relocation that makes that easier. I have repleced several of these at work and believe it to be a weak point in an already questionably designed steering system. After that go to the tie rod ends would be my suggestion.

When my idler takes a dump, I’m going to replace it with the Kryptonite one.
