parking brake goes to floor

have no tension on parking brake. the wheel that holds the cable in the parking brake foot lever will not turn until 1/2 inch from floor. shouldn't the wheel turn as soon as you press on the lever. does that mean i need a new parking brake lever assembly

What are you working on? do a signature, the park brake adjust is a star wheel in the drum , difficult to get to but likely the cause but have to know what you have.

I already tighten star to where the tire will not move. Still parking brake foot pedal still goes to the floor with no resistance. I think the lever is broken, and I think I need to buy a new parking brake lever

On here, there have been a few pedal mechanism issues on the newer trucks, like the '11s.

On ALL my vehicles I use my parking brake 100% of the time to try and assure it stays functional. I had one break on a 90 Z71 after about 14 years with most of its life in salt-loving Michigan. That was around the same time a brake line rusted through. If your rig is 2011 or newer I can't see that the cable would break unless there was some defect or other extenuating circumstances.

Democrats: abolish ICE... free health care for illegals... make it easy for illegals who cross to stay... give illegals the right to vote... adamantly oppose building a secure border... create "sanctuary cities"... grant illegals in the country amnesty... create welfare laws to service illegals in the Home Depot parking lot... tip off illegals about ICE raids.
And we're supposed to believe that Democrats aren't for open borders simply because they say so?

cable is not broken or stretched. the wheel that the cable is attached to does not turn when you press on the parking brake lever, until it is 1/2 inch from floor it turns so i think the wheel is bad
