Thanks

Thank you for getting back to me, that is a little deep for my pockets right now. I guess if it doesn't start after I replace the filter head I will try to chase any gremlins in the wires.

Haha. Yeah I wish dmax3500. I think I am about done with all the surprises though that have slowed me down.

Yeah definitely start with the cheapest route tom2002. I don’t recommend just throwing parts at your truck or you will start to end up somewhere close to my situation. (J/K)

I didn’t post these last night. I was tired. But I cleaned out and wire brushed the insides and outside real well of the y-bridge. It was pretty sooty. Then I figured I spruce them up a little with some high temp engine paint as well as the thermostat housing and on the intake housing of the turbo as well. 990ED96A-4D60-4B25-A31D-01A1922F7B62_1555755804669.jpg

I got the engine and transmission back out today. Separated the two and have the engine sitting on a stand. Moved to the garage so the wife will be a little happier. Now just to make more room in there with all the rest of the truck parts in there as well. Tear down coming soon.

I can’t wait to finish the engine and chassis so I can start on the interior.

The heads are off. They will go to the machine shop Monday. The pistons and cylinder walls look great. So in the meantime I’ll be cleaning things up and getting the block ready for a fresh coat of high temp black paint. As well as some of the accessories getting a fresh coat of high temp silver.

Started cleaning the carbon off the tops of the pistons last night. I’m using a blue non abrasive scotch pad and WD40. About to switch up to a green scotch pad for a little more bite on the carbon but not too much to hurt the cylinder walls. Also wiping everything clean with blue lint free shop towels.

Decided to get a little more abrasive with the scotch pad and switched to the green pad. Much better and still not to abrasive.
