ABS Light

My truck has been almost trouble free since I bought it 10 years ago. But recently I have been getting a ABS light. When this happens I may not have Cruise Control or Exhaust Brake.
I can reset the ABS by disconnecting batteries. Hook them back up. (I have a 800 amp disconnect switch) Start engine. Put in gear and drive about 50'. Then ABS Light goes off. I can then drive for many miles with ABS light off. Stop and turn key off. When I start engine again ABS light is on. Cruise Control and Exhaust Brake may or may not work.
This ABS light started after setting all summer. The only items that were done during this time was installing Centramatic's on front wheel. I did leave emergency brake on during down time. No codes that I can see. But I do not have a reader for ABS system.
Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, I have the same issue and have yet to figure it out. My efilive V2 doesnt show a code which usually does read ABS in the 2500's.

Hopefully one of the techs/owners has solved the problem.

I really dont know but Ill throw this out there. I had ABS light come on in my Jeep and it was wheel speed sensor. Not sure if that helps but maybe it can steer you in the right direction. Good luck

Mine came on, including that annoying chime and it went away when I replaced my
brake switch. Of course, the brake controller was wired into the switch as well, and I fixed that at the same time, so who knows

Not sure brake switch would fix it. I do have one. May give it a try.

I will keep that in mind. I hope to find someone with a tech II to read ABS codes during my winter travels. I have spare sensors. If it is one of those I can install one.
Not sure a 06 controller will work on my 04.5.

If you don't learn the brake switch position you will probably get a fault. You need a Tech 2 to learn it.

Does it really require a tech II to change out a brake switch? It is just a fixed mechanical switch that attaches to the brake pedal arm. I didnt have any issues with changing mine out a couple of years ago.
