Hitch Advice/suggestions 2000 K3500

Hello new to the fourm. I just picked up a 2000 K3500 for use at camp and hauling purposes. The truck was used the local airport for maintenance and never had a hitch installed. Im looking to install one soon... Looks like from my research that this truck is rated at 13.5K towing capacity. So my question is what hitch set up is interchangeable from other GM models/years there are some used ones for sale locally but may just buy new so I can get the install done ASAP!

Thanks

I like to buy Curt for hitches. I like buying the highest rated hitch they sell to fit the truck. I believe overkill makes for greater stability.

Thanks guys! I went with a Curt. Now I will be looking for instructions to run the wires correctly to install 4 flat / 7 round and brake controller. I will head out into the fourm shortly to see whats out there.

Thanks. I wired up a 4 flat in the past... Same procedure match just match the colors? I forgot to mention Id like to install a brake controller also. I did some brief research I think I read that there is no plug and play adapters and requires some drilling to reach the fuse box and wires in the engine bay
