2011 3500hd factory hitch with adaptor rattle

I have a 3500hd with the factory class v hitch and 2" adaptor and it has a lot of play with my Curt drop hitch. What have you guys done to fix this? There is a little play with the adaptor in the hitch and a little more between the Curt and the adaptor but it adds up to quite a bit...

With hitch assembled as in use, drill hole up from bottom thru to the middle. Insert bolt, put nut on the end in the middle of the hitch mount and tighten it down. Repair cost about 25 cents.

Buy a 2 1/2" draw-bar/ball-mount.

I slathered silicone on the adapter and glued it into the receiver. That took care of some of the slop.

I bought one of these: https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Acces...x/BX88224.html

It's a bit pricy but it tightened everything up so tight that even after some lady ran in to the hitch, it didn't rattle. One thing I did find with it though is to replace the nuts with nylock nuts, as I lost one of the originals.

Wow! $54!?!? 1/2 hour of my time, some metal from my scrap bin, and I might have to order those u-bolts, but I'm pretty sure I have some laying around, I could have that thing made in no time for no money lol.
