Trailer Brake Controller

I have 2007 LBZ 3500 4wd.
How can I tell if I have the factory brake controller, or do I need to purchase one?

If I buy one I'm looking at a proportional one.
Are they specific for vehicle make or can I get any one since I was supplied a harness when truck was new.
I'm considering the Prodigy P2.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Richard

Factory Integrated was NOT available on that truck. You can buy any controller that you desire.

I just purchased a p3 and only got to use it once for a short time and it worked great. Better than the voyager i had replaced. I think the p2 works the same just without a couple features. I don't you can go wrong with a p2.

Thanks ,

I bought the P2 unit for $75 off of Craigslist, the wiring that came with it was for a Ford but I already had the factory pigtail that came with the truck.
I found a wiring diagram online with instructions, it all went together well.

I used it yesterday and was pleased with how it worked and easy to set.
I would have no problem recommending this product for ease of installation and use.

Thanks again to both of you who posted.

You can't go wrong with a P2 or P3. I had a P3 on my 2000 GMC and loved it.
