Did this one come with any frame reinforcements? I went with a draw-tite titan 2.5" receiver and it had extra brackets for the frame. Good considering the hitch is only as good as it's attachment.

looks similar to what i have. mine was already changed out when i bought my truck. i doubt the stocker would last with the weight i'm pulling now and the added forces of the WD hitch.

What are these brackets and where did they go?

I wanted to upload a photo to show it but I don't feel like getting a photobucket just to do it. Anyways, basically, you disconnect the bumper bracket and this piece of around .25" goes in between it and the frame and uses the two bumper bracket bolts and then the bottom of it connects to the hitch. The idea being that you gain the shear strength of the two bolts attaching the bumper bracket instead of just tension loading the bolts that go into the frame in the bottom. MUCH stronger that way. Plus I added thick backer plates to the bolts that mount in the bottom of the frame. If a person was in a hurry, these little plates cold be easily overlooked as unneeded and not installed.

After I posted that question I went looking for that hitch and saw those pieces. I can see where it would add to the strength but wouldn't think it was a huge gain. I'm not sure but it looked as though the Draw Tite had just two mounting points, but three bolts, to the frame whereas the Curt has three mounting points and bolts. But again subject to different schools of thought

This is what I have on my truck. It will haul anything the truck can, but you have to take your spare out. I just installed my trailer plug in the hole in the bumper where you crank down the spare tire.

At $600+ I'll stick with the $200 Curt hitch.

Anybody know the difference between the Curt 15302 & 15321? I cannot find anything different between them on Curt's website.
