I have the B&W under bed hitch but I paired it with the Drawtite/Reese hide a goose 18K hitch for my 05 K3500 Dmax.eg:
Under Bed Gooseneck Hitch for 2001 2010 Chevy GMC | eBay
Draw Tite Hide A GOOSE 5th Wheel Hitch Adapter | eBay

2 cinch bolts for the stinger,1 frt and 1 on top that are torqued to 120 ft/lbs to loosen/tighten and the B&W underbed cross pin to deal with.

The head removes from the base with 2 pins to reduce weight, and I like it for the self locking overcenter jaw-no swinging latches.

I use my combination with the bed liner with no problems.

The hitch would need to be flush with the truck bed completely compressing the plastic Bedliner to avoid any potential play between the hitch and the frame.
Just the weight of the base would not compress it I don't think.
