06' LBZ rated towing capacity

Anyone able to help me out with what my truck (in sig) is rated to be towing at? I may be buying a gooseneck and using it for work in the near future until I make some cash to buy a 3500HD , just want an idea of what the specs are so im not abusing the truck. Stock on the trailer wont be too bad but the fifthwheel will probly be about a 36 ft dual tandem. I know they are built to tow but I just dont wana overload the Ol' girl

Do you have any weights? If I recall the GCWR is 23k on our trucks (06). Subtract your total vehicle weight from that and you've got your trailer capacity. The information should be in the door jam

look in the owners manual it is spelled out in print

Assuming he got a manual... Mine was used and it wasn't included.

Trailer Life rates my 2006 LBZ/Allison at 15400lb for a fifth wheel.

Hope this helps.

Luckily I downloaded and saved all these old order guide PDFs from way back then.

Attached is the GM order guide for 2006 Silverado 2500HD
Publication date is 7/28/2006
Towing specs start on page 63

With (LLY) or (LBZ) Duramax 6.6L Turbo Diesel V8 /Allison trans./3.73 axle ratio, the Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) is 22,000 lbs.

I also added a few more related order guides just for the heck of it.
The 2007 Classic 3500SRW (9900 GVWR) has the same max. GCWR as the 2500HD: 22,000 lbs.
The 2007 Classic 3500DRW (11,400 GVWR) has a max. GCWR of 23,500 lbs.

The last two PDFs are the early order guides for the new body style 2007 trucks, and I didn't see any towing specs.

Just that your center of gravity is a little higher and you may have increased axle hop. Not likely that that will cause you any trouble towing heavy though.

Post up a pic when you get a load on.

well my blocks are tapered now , my old 2" blocks werent. The new ones have made a very noticeable improvement over the old flat ones with the wheel hop issue. just wasnt sure if it'll affect the leafs or anything else for that matter.
