My truck isnt the only thing I got from my father. I also have his lead foot. We both like to get were we are going. and have taken many trips with campers sailing at 80. Now my self after towing a 25' car hauler with a toyota. I understand truck limits and my 6.5 feels way faster. And I drive no faster than the pyro says my 6.5 will go.

OOOOOPS. The link you posted took me to a 6.2/6.5 thread. After reading many posts, I failed or forgot the original question. My bad!

I still stand my post above! One thing for sure, the higher RPM's the better pulling power! But lower fuel economy.

Here's what my 2003 Crew cab 4x4 short bed does:

- 285/75 16 tires
- DiabloSport Predator on #3 (715 ft/lb TQ & 385 HP)
- 91,000 miles
- Towing 38', 13,000 (dry weight) 5th Wheel
- 19,850 lb. total combined [dry] weight via commercial scales

I never put it in Tow/Haul mode and with the taller tires it stays in the "sweet spot" of 1800 RPM (peak torque) at 65mph. It never comes out of 6th gear up any hills I've tackled in upper MI and WI. I never had an issue through the New England states hauling a car either. Most freeway travel yields a 13 mpg average with the 5'r and 24 mpg without.

When I burn B-100 I get about 2 mpg less on both sides.
