Slow to take fuel when filling

I have had this van for six years and 100,000 miles. I bought it new and it's always taken fuel very slowly while filling up. I have finally had enough and am wanting to fix it. There are no obvious kinks in anything. Can someone give me a few ideas on what I should look for?

Thanks!

In today's world topping off tanks is a no-no.
Topping off allows fuel enters the vapor recovering systems, thus causing it to fill slowly.
You need to check the emissions/vapor recovering system and see if there is a item similarly to a charcoal canister the fuel has filled up.

What ? He owns a diesel not a gasser. I have been topping off my tank for 460,000+ miles with zero issues.

My 11 Denali was a B*TCH to fill at first roated the vent hose to allow it to breath while filling and problem went away. Take a close look where the hose attaches to metal filler and see if the vent is positioned up on top without any kinks or restrictions

Is the problem filling the tank any part of the way, or just when the tank is almost full, maybe the last gallon or two?? I always have a problem with the last couple of gallons.

It's a problem filling it the whole way. I have to hold the lever so it just barely trickles in. It's one of those issues that's not real serious and only aggravates me while I am filling but I of course forget about it right after a fill up. The day I wrote the post above it was -22 degrees and windy and I froze my a$$ off so I decided I should look into it again. The vent hose is on top and the fill tube is straight, it must be something in the tank or fitting going into the tank. I don't think it's worth it to remove the tank yet.

Are you using the pumps for semis that have the large nozzle ? Do you shove the nozzle all the way in ? Maybe try pulling the nozzle a little ways out then filling.

I have tried all of those tricks and nothing helps. This is my second diesel van. My first one was an 06 and filled just fine. This one not so much. I thought maybe there were some other guys who had the same issue and maybe there was an answer out there.

That is a real problem, not just an annoyance. All diesel truck owners know that diesel fuel is foamy and that foaming can cause the dispensing nozzle to think the tank is full. Why yours does that at any level is puzzling to me. Angle of filler tube to tank? Pinched/restricted rubber portion of filler? Partial blockage in the tank itself? What is different in your truck and others that don't have this problem?
