New Tires After 10,000 Miles

So I'm just about fed up with these 35x12.50R17 Toyo MTs on my truck. I've got 10,000 miles on them and coming from a stock Michelin tire, I can't take the highway noise and weighted parking lot steering of these tires anymore. They may not annoy most but they annoy the **** out of me. Don't get me wrong, they're the best looking tires on the market and wear like iron IMO but just not suitable for my long highway commute daily.

So, yesterday, I spent most of the day looking for a set of SOTA Novakane 20x9s in Death Metal but there are none in the entire country and they are on a national back order for 4-6 weeks. I called up SOTA and asked about the SKUL wheels in Death Metal, 20x9, 0 offset and they said they had one set left and to call MrWheelDeal for the best deal. After calling Discount Tire, RimzOne and a few other national distributors, I called MrWheelDeal and in a few minutes, they made me a package deal for the wheels, caps, lug nuts and LT295/65R20 Nitto Terra Grappler G2s mounted and balanced, shipped to my door, for between $500-1,000 less than I could find anywhere else. They will be shipping soon and should be here the end of next week or the beginning of the following. Looking forward to a lighter, quieter and mileage warrantied tire for my truck that is good for both daily driving, towing and a little bit of offroad around Arizona. I will post pics when I get them. Also, they are load rated at 4,080lbs @80PSI cold, are 17lbs lighter, per tire, than my current Toyos and have a S speed rating rather than the current Toyo's Q speed rating which bumps the limit from 99MPH to 112MPH. I care about this because I go over a 100 racing the truck and passing people sometimes and would feel safer if I knew the tires could take it. FYI, I looked at the TOYO AT2s and they were over $100 more per tire in the same size.

PS, my stock Trail Ready HD17 17x8.5 wheels, beadLOOK rims, hardware and Toyo tires will be for sale soon. I paid over $550 a piece for the wheels and they are only 6 months old without a scratch or ding. Asking $2500 local pick up in Phoenix only for wheels and tires mounted and balanced with lugs, caps, rings and hardware to boot.

Anybody have pics of combo I purchased or similar? Specifically G2s or SOTA SKULs or both?

Every time I see a daily driver rig that has never been off-road, let alone a gravel road with giant mud tires I just shake my head. . . . . . Why anybody would put up with the lowered MPG, less performance, noise, crappy ride, and crappy handling just to try and look cool makes no sense to me.

I hope your new set-up rides well and is quieter. I’ve had pretty good success with the Terra Grapplers, but I personally prefer the RF10s myself. Let us know what you think of the new tires after you get some miles on them.
