New Goodyear Duratrac Tires are Great So Far

I just had a set of Goodyear Duratrac 285's put on my Duramax a few weeks ago, and so far they are doing great. I have always been a BF Goodrich all terrain guy, but I decided to try these out. They have been good on the highway and I have not had any problems with drifting or wandering. They have proven great in the mud and sand, wet pavement. My only concern is how many miles I can put on them. We will see. Great tires so far.

Did you mount them on the factory wheels? They look like a decent tire but they better be at $200 a pop! I haven't priced out tires lately and was surprised to see what they're getting for them.

I'll be looking for some new tires soon and currently have BFG's in the 265 size.

I have those tires on my half ton and I love em. They wandered a bit at first, but after a few hundred miles........they're good to go. I'd definitely consider these for a lifted application as well.......since they offer them in 33's and 35's I believe.

I have towed 1.5 yards of gravel + 9k tt 350 miles to the FIL''s, and the trailer back, taken the trailer over the grapevine to Disneyland, and back. I have aftermarket Alcoas on my truck (they were on it on the lot), and 245/75/16e's are great. I havn't noticed the wantering issues that others have reported. I guess it is mostly psi related. I run 80 all over.

Thanks for the reports. Please keep us updated on mileage. I've been reading about them and they sound like the cat's meow, but don't want to make a low mileage mistake like I did with Toyos again.

Add in mounting, balancing, all the other extra charges and you're the $1000 mark.

XDEVILMANX,
What size are you running? I'm glad to hear you say that you noticed wondering for a while and then it went away. I went from 265/75/16 Mastercraft Courser CT's to these Duratracs in the same size and it feels like the rear end is all over the place. I sure hope it goes away, I really don't want to pull my 5er with my truck feeling like that.
