Ordered one last night. Dealer said 'maybe 8 weeks, but not sure due to their allotment'. He said something like 100k duramax engines got set aside to go into the new Hummer replacement for the military so they are short engines for the general public. Smells fishy to me. I told him 'Ford has diesel trucks to sell, what's GM's problem?'

Update:

Maybe this thread has gotten back to GM because my dealership decided to reorder the exact same truck as "fleet" and now I have a TPW of 2/13/17...!

That's much better than having to wait the original 2 to 3 months from now for a TPW. Way to go dealership...!

Just received another "Vehicle Order Status" showing that both GM and Production Control have accepted the order. The Requested TPW is still 2/13/2017. I really appreciate my dealership for being creative and staying on top of the status.

This is actually my first post in this forum. I joined a while back for information and advise on what I am expecting to be my first diesel.
I have been following the delivery times and concerns of others on the new L5P. I just saw a post "donlen.com/production-trucks-gm.html" updated on 1-17 stating that the L5P for both the crew cab and double cab 2500HD is on constraint until JULY. Does that mean that those of us waiting for an ordered truck can expect another 6 months? I have read about a couple issues including the one guy with a turbo failure.

So maybe I worry too much and do too much research. I asked my dealer where I ordered my truck and he doesn't acknowledge the Donlen schedule status. I check the Chevrolet web site every 2 weeks tracking my order. Finally it jumped from event code 1100 to 3000 then 3100 with a TPW of 2-10-17. I just can't wait.

Congrats BlueMax17...! Yah, I am getting updates from my dealership frequently and as of 1/30, my truck is at event code 3300; "Scheduled for Production" with an "Actual TPW" of 2/13...!!!

Event codes:
1100 = Preliminary order accepted
3000 = Order accepted by production control
3100 = Order available to sequence

I will check out the Donlen schedule status. Thanks for the input!

Where are you guys looking to check the status on your trucks? I asked my dealer and the CUSStomer service rep and both told me there was no such site available.

That's BS...! My dealership is emailing me updates frequently. Aside from that, you can go to the Chevrolet web site, start a chat session, and ask them as long as you have "Order #". Your dealership should at least be able to give you the order number otherwise I would be pissed.
