UPDATE:

(yes, I can admit when I've overlooked something!!)

First, I have to say that the Ford being in the shop 1 week per month is largely exagerated. Yes, the 6.0 is not nearly that of the 7.3, but still not as bad as you make it sound...

Next, after doing the math, the GMC is about $2000 cheaper than the Ford, and the commercial incentive is $200 more than Ford (500 vs 300), so all in all I'm within $500 difference of each other in the long run. (Pay $2200 less, but pay interest on the loan instead of 0%)

I don't keep a truck for 3 years, so the 0% incentive is nice, but doesn't totally pay off for me.

(A 0% incentive really has a lot of value when you pay over the term, such as all 36 months. In my case, we will trade it or sell it in one year due to miles, and constantly recreating tax deductions by supporting the economy by buying vehicles more often)

The decision: Stick with another GMC, as for a small $500 difference between the 2, the Duramax/Allison combination is far more reliable. If it was thousands of dollars difference ($2000+), I'd consider the switch, but for how close they are, I'll stick with GMC.

Update:

Decided the 0% wasn't worth the possible engine troubles of the 6.0 PSD.

Just bought a 2006 GMC 3500HD DRW 4x4, LBZ/ALI, SLT Trim

$1000 DPA + 3.9 for 36 mo's

Still have the 2500HD, just added to the fleet.
