Employee Discount on Extended Warranty

Anyone know about this? I received and e-mail from GM that says up to 6 year bumper to bumper warranty and 125k miles for 0% financing and 100% money back guarantee. I don't know how much as I have not called yet. I have my own opinion, but wanted to get others since there are so many knowledgable people out there.

Thanks in advance.

I would only assume the price will make the final decision. But it does sound tempting

SoCal Diesel Trucks Member

Just bought my truck, the stealer tried to sell me an extended warrany for $2,200, a little while after I told him "no thanks, I'll shop around first" he offered it to me again at $1,700. I declined again, still think I can find it a bit cheaper. Let us know...

There are few factors that drive the price of an extended warranty through the roof....being a 4X4, diesel motor, Allison tranny and a truck.

Update. I called and they offered me a 5 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty for about $3200. This is supposed to be an employee price. I told him that was outrageous especially since the duramax has a 5 year 100k engine warranty to start with and for the rest of the truck this only extends the regular bumper to bumper by 2 years. What is going to break that will cost over $3k? Transmission? Well wouldn't it be too bad to take that $3k and put it toward a Suncoast upgrade? Bottom line, it seems like a rip off for me at least. Things should not break within 5 years when used as intended and I rarely tow anything.

I have posted this many time : DO NOT BUY YOUR EXTENDED WARRANTY UNTIL THE FACTORY ONE IS ABOUT TO EXPIRE. If you do youare throwing away $$ ie: Buy 60mo60thou new you get additional 24 months 24 thou ,but it at 35800 or 35 monthe you get 95800 miles or 95 months. they will not tell you that. my truck warranty just expired at 89880miles ,I never made it to the end of the time too many miles. I have seen the major guard from a caddy dealer in PA for $550 .

GMPP Pricing

I just bought a GM PP Major Guard from my dealer.

I paid $2400 for 7yr/100,000 mile warranty, $100 deductible.
That is a good price. For price comparison, check out:

http://www.gmoutlet.com/gmpp.htm

They will quote you GM PP.

If you tell your dealer to include the warranty in the deal, they will end up giving you it at essentially cost to make the car deal.

BTW- I'd been quoted everything from $2000 a month (for less coverage) to a high of $5400. Check around.

BTW - if you buy warranty coverage after 1yr/12,000 miles the vehicle is considered USED. The price goes WAY UP!

If you buy the warranty at 35,000 miles, you cannot even buy 100k coverage (80k-84k? is the max)and it WILL cost you at least double than buying it at the time of purchase. PLUS - you have to come up with the cash. I financed it into the deal.
