That's not an issue with the sunroof, it's one with the dealer.

Hey Hrchdog,

I see you are in the market for a new GMC 2500 HD. Please let me know if you would like for me to double check our system for the no sun roof option. You can private message me your name, zip code, and phone number.

I imagine that with usual maintenance (dielectric grease) the seals will last a good long time. That"s why I opted for one on my '13

I have a sunroof in my 2005, never done any maintenance ever, and its as tight as a drum. Sometimes you just get a bad one.

Sometimes you do. Mine never leaked per say, but open, the metal hinges rattled, after many trips to dealer, they finally replaced it. Still, when I open my sunroof in spoiler mode, sounds like a coffee percolator. Love having it, but it hasn't been flawless. I understand your concerns.

Well I finally picked it up yesterday, waited till they got one in iridium metallic with the cocoa dune interior. Had to drive home in a monsoon and knock on wood no leaks.

Very nice, you have to post some pics when you get a chance!

I'll have to stick with my thoughts about never putting a hole in a roof. That's were it will leak if it is going to. Our MB has a sunroof that has never leaked but it was only opened one time 20 years ago when it was brand new. I did not like the sun cooking on me and the changes in the light when you changed direction of travel.
