This. ^^^

The horsepower wars need to end. Who cares who makes the most power anymore - Horsepower is already more than anyone could possibly need in a pickup truck.

I'm with the others...stop caring about HP and start caring about fuel economy - THAT is what's going to sell the most trucks in the future.

The class 8 segment figured this out decades ago. You spec a truck with as much, or as little horsepower as one desires, and you know what? VERY few people spec with monster engines - I'd say 90% of the highway trucks you see on the road today are 400 HP or less. Fuel economy is what matters most and a huge segment of the class 8 category now concerns themselves with aerodynamics (MPG) above most everything else, especially power.

Horsepower war will never end but the EPA is putting together new mpg regs for hd pickups, medium duty, and large trucks. There will be more of a balance in the future.

I guess a sixth grade spelling level is too much for some do"G"e owners.....
I agree 100% FERD is a dirty word, Im 100% on track with more fuel mileage but I still do believe that GM should be top dog but I guess im just an over compensator nice spell though

Because I changed the filter. the average new empty filter will hold 1 quart of oil.

I added this comment to another thread too but figured it was more appropriate in this one give the discussion on torque and HP. So far…and granted I only have 100 miles on my 15 3500..my new 15 feels like it accelerates harder then my 11 that had 46k on it. I'm not sure if its just the difference between the two trucks but I sure get the sense that this new one pulls harder..and thats with a tight motor.

Lots of things feel good when they are tight, I will admit a new Chevy truck would never had been one of my best guesses....
