And it's not just push buttons, it's the layout, as shown in the photo below, which is an ergonomically inefficient hodge-podge of shapes that look like a bunch of left-over parts crammed into every available space. And despite all the different shapes, it isn't easy to tell the difference between them by feel alone.

Functionally it is a very poor design, about as far from the
form-follows-function simplicity associated with good industrial design.

Aesthetically, it looks very... gaudy, chintzy, busy.
Actually, the one word that best describes it is probably.... GARISH.
It is a look that belongs on a gaming machine in a casino, not the dash of a vehicle designed to accomplish tasks (work or recreation).

But it does look, um.... fancy, or snazzy, I guess.
I'm sure a lot of people like that look.
To each their own.

Yep. Easily, by feel. With gloves on. That's what the older controls were designed for.
The newer design is a step backwards, designed instead for some type of "WOW" factor.

Just pointing it out for those hating on GM and saying Ford has it figured out. Take a look at the 2015 Ford buttons under their screen... look familiar?

I am the last person who would have said Ford figured it out... I have a 2011 Escape, and I swear the transmission has 2 seconds between gears. NOT a high quality vehicle at all. Good thing I got it for like 1/2 price.

As far as the Sierra I would have to say the new truck looks better. You can just see there is a higher level of quality and refinement when compared side by side. This is a pic from another website that has been kicking around. Both nice trucks!

^ In the second photo, why does it look like the front bumper is pushed back into the wheelwell? See that offset at the top rear corner of the front bumper? Is there a black fender flare above it?

Yes, the GMCs have that itty bitty fender flare. Kind of wish Chevy did that.

I think they look good if color matched, GM just needs to tone down the chrome. The appearance package needs to be standard instead of a limited option.
