Do the 3500s not have a 11.5" rear end and the 2500s have a 10.5"?

All diesels have the 11.5" AAM axle. Not sure about the gassers.

basically just a different rear spring pack...otherwise a 3500 SRW is the same as a 2500.

Yes, you can get side-impact airbags on a 3500 SRW. Side impact airbags are not available on the duallys though IIRC.

All 3500s get the 11.5 rear, gas or diesel. Also, beside a big main leaf pack, the rear springs on the new 3500 srw get the auxiliary overload spring back that they lost in 06.

My '11 3500srw 6.0 gasser has the 11.5" rear. You can see the axle, in pics, in my "rear brakes exposed" thread. https://www.dieselplace.com/forum/sho...417&highlight=

Yes. Since 04 any engine 3500 srw comes with the 11.5 rear. Basically from 01 till now the only way to get the 10.5 rear would be a 2500 with the 6.0. I can't believe you of all people don't know this.

Looking for a different truck. Does a 3500 Chevy diesel get less mileage than a 2500 diesel?. I am sure springs is the only difference in classification. I heard 3500 may be geared lower.
