Next Duramax 100% GM Engineered

Caught this little blurb from Mike Levine in the comments section of the recent HD truck shoot-out:

@Sierra: It was the first update to the 6.6-L Duramax made by GM without Isuzu's design assistance. The next Duramax will be all-new and engineered entirely in-house by GM. Oops. Let me rephrase. The next Duramax *is* all-new and engineered in-house by GM. I hear there may be one or two engines already in running mules. Most of the work was done before GM declared BK. Stay tuned. I'm digging for info!

We will probably see the next duramax sometime around 2013/2014...I think thats when the EPA goes through its next revision of diesel emissions standards??? I could be wrong though.
