Misprint with Sierra Denali?

Looking at the Diesel supplement there appears to be a significant disparity between the towing capability of the Denali K-2500 and other models. Maximum trailer weight for the Denali is listed at 15,600 while the same configuration without Denali is listed at 16,700. In other comparisons the Denali is listed at 100-200 pounds less trailer weight capability than the comparable non-Denali models which does makes sense but 1,100 pounds difference does not. The GCWR is the same for all.

I am thinking about ordering a Denali model but not if it weighs 1,100 pounds more than than a similar SLT. It must come with a couple of burly guards to protect it while parked

I asked a GMC dealer about that. He said he was getting training on the new HD's next week and would ask the question. I think it must be a misprint and they copied the 15.6 K from the 2500 long box below it in that table or maybe someone's a little dyslectic.

The chassis is identical between base truck and denali. The only differences in towing would be differences in curb mass. Denali has every option so it will weigh more.

The Denali tows and carries the almost exactly the same payload as a 2500HD. You have to take into account that the Denali is only available as a CCSB.

All wights and capacities taken from GMC's website under CCSB D/A

Curb weight is as follows
2500HD - 7208lbs
Denali - 6562lbs

Trailer towing (Ball mount)
2500HD - 13000
Denali - 13000

Trailer towing (5th wheel)

2500HD - 16,700
Denali - 15,600

Payload
2500HD - 2,792
Denali - 2,959

So overall the Denali Carries more in the bed weight wise but tows slightly less 5th wheel.
