Not true. I saw a fully loaded LTZ for 61,000 and a pretty loaded LT for 52,000. Both 2011's.

As far as the gmc build and price, $37,680 will get you a WT 2500hd, rclb 2wd with just the dmax only, up to $54,835 for an SLT 3500hd dually 4x4 with just the dmax. These are just starting at prices. Loaded for that same truck: $60,633.

(note, the build and price still seems to be missing some features, so consider these somewhat rough)

here is what I do when I buy a vehicle.... Build the one you want online... then go to Edmunds (www.edmunds.com) and build it on there. In your case, go to the dealer and make some notes from the window sticker so you configure it properly on edmunds... you can then see what the MSRP is, the invoice and the FMV (fair market value). it will also show if any rebates/discounts are available as well as any special financing... I like to go from invoice and offer $500 - $1,000 above that. I know they are getting hold back and floorplan... If you are ordering a truck, that works out the best for the dealer because they aren't financing any of the truck for their lot so they get the most amount of $$$. Don't be afraid to tell your dealer that you know the invoice on the truck is X and that you think a fair profit for them is Y.

This will be harder to do when new vehicles come out (like the 2011's). And it will be easier during the end of the model year... The internet is a powerful tool my friend. Use it to your advantage.

I built an Imperial Blue 2500HD with every possible option including the headrest DVD system, upgraded key fob, and power rear window for a hair over 56K. I drive an '06 LBZ and the dealer is giving me 24K as trade. It has 95 thousand miles on it...I thought that was pretty good. There's no one out there that would give me 24K for my truck. I guess it's all how they play with the numbers.
