I would assume black powder coat. The truck is in Indiana, so I haven't seen it yet.

Problem

Buddy came over last night with 2011 dmax. Dealer was not able to install the 6" oval step rails. Urea tank was in the way. It looks like tmg's concern is real. I hope it is just ignorance on the part of the dealer and this problem can be easily resolved.

Has anyone had the step rails installed on a 2011 dmax?

Will have to forward this to the dealer I am working with... I'm thinking they were probably trying to fit some pre-2011 6" GM bars hence the problem. I would have thought they would have worked this out at the factory but you never know. At least the pass. side bar will help obscure the ur(ine)ea tank from view.

Floriduramax1: So what is the finish on those black bars in your pics? Black powdercoat from factory or did you have them Line-Xed?

I think I like it. Not so much a chrome guy myself, chrome being the be-atch that it is to keep it looking nice and with the full chrome bumper and all, I think I like the look of the all black step bars.

Now that my mind has been put to rest on this topic, going to order a Taupe Grey LTZ CC 3500 SRW next week.

they are black powdercoat i have them on my 09... they have a nice look to them.

For those interested in the DeeZee running boards, I received an email from DeeZee a few days ago advising that they will have running boards for the 2011s in October. Wifey likes running boards, so I guess she'll have to wait a bit.

I stopped and looked at a 2011 GMC LML yesterday that had the 6" oval steps on it.

Anybody get the 6" ovals yet? Not ones that were ordered with the truck but ones you ordered through the dealer.

I thought all the 6" oval were a "dealer installed" option.
