Most Farmers and contractors or people who use their trucks for work and have to have these trucks be reliable. would disagree wit that statment the 6.0 ps killd that work horse thing for ford... most work trucks around here are cummins and duramaxs very few fords

I don't care about ratings, they are BS arbitrary numbers put out by the manufacturers. I care about brake capacity, and axle ratings. This new "F450" is a scam and nothing like the true medium duty beast I have in my yard.

I think the GM 3500, Ram 3500 and F350 are all great dually's, thing is if you need a 1.5tonner only Ford let you have one from the factory. Kodiak is nice but won;t fit in parking structures.

gmc2500hd- i can't see that being true but I hope it's right. If I were you I'd grab an 09/10 while you can. love this truck

lethal weapon-- give it a rest son

A couple of good reads in this thread over at gminsidenews. Some of its new, and more of what hasn't already been stated here.

Good read but still looks like t-bars up front. I'd sure like to see coils and a higher GVW truck. Needs better brakes too.

GM supposedly monitors these boards, right?

Here's my wish list GM, for the new Sierra 4500
Dana 70 solid front axle
Dana 110 rear (You should really spank AAM for the axle strike, anyway)
True Medium Duty motor - with CAT out of OTR engines as of 2010 how about
Detroit MBE 900 7.2 stock for the geezers (230hp, 620tq)
Cummins ISB 8.3 as an option (350hp, 1000tq)
Cummins ISL 9 as an option (380hp, 1300tq) Yahoo!!!! I'll put down a deposit today!
Coil Sprung front end with panhard bar, hydraulic ram steering.
Allison 6 sp auto transmission (I'm lazy)

all would be nice. but just a pipe dream. GM will not build what we want but what they think we want.

I spoke with a big oilfield man on Sunday, who runs 300+ pickups most of which are Duramax's and he said GM was planning to offer a 3500HD in '11 like the old 3500HD or the 90's. I guess we'll see what shows up.
